Cybersecurity firm Accops has partnered with AI specialist pi-labs to leverage AI and biometrics to fight deepfakes. The collaboration aims to strengthen identity verification systems across various sectors, including financial services, enterprise security, and government applications. The partnership combines Accops’ BioAuth facial authentication system with pi-labs’ AI-powered deepfake detection technology.
The integrated solution employs a three-step verification process that captures facial data, analyzes it for potential AI manipulation using pi-labs’ “Authentify” engine, and makes real-time decisions about access authorization. The system is designed to work across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments, making it adaptable for various organizational needs.
“Cyber threats are evolving rapidly, and deepfake technology has created new vulnerabilities in identity security,” said Vijender Yadav, Co-founder, CEO, and MD of Accops. “By integrating pi-labs’ deepfake detection capabilities with Accops BioAuth, we are delivering a solution that ensures foolproof facial authentication for enterprises.”
The technology aims to address several critical vulnerability points in modern digital operations. It strengthens video Know Your Customer (vKYC) processes by ensuring only genuine users can complete verification. The solution also protects virtual hiring processes, where deepfake avatars have been used to deceive HR teams during remote interviews. Additionally, it provides enhanced security for general identity verification across various applications.
Recent statistics indicate a 700 percent increase in deepfake fraud incidents, highlighting the urgent need for more sophisticated detection methods. The solution is now available either as an API-based enhancement for existing Accops customers or as a standalone security module for organizations looking to strengthen their identity verification systems.
Accops, recently named Security Product Company of the Year at the DSCI Excellence Awards 2024, currently serves over 900 enterprises worldwide. The company’s recognition in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Desktop as a Service (DaaS) further validates its position in the cybersecurity market. Meanwhile, pi-labs has established itself as a leader in AI-driven cyber forensics, and says its technology is being used by law enforcement agencies, intelligence teams, and cybersecurity firms.
